BOIL WATER NOTICE
* PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE *
An electrical failure has caused a loss of water pressure in the Town’s water system. The area
affected is The area affected was between was between Lagoni Lane East to US 27, and from
Lake June Road North to Lake Francis Drive in the Town of Lake Placid. This is essentially
anyone north of the Railroad Track bridge over US 27, not including the Lake Blue area.
A PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE will be in effect from 48 hours after the water
was restored at 9:00 p.m. on 2/21/2017 (this is required by the Florida Department of
Environmental Regulation - FAC 655.340 etc). The 48 hours would make a return to regular
water use at 9:00 p.m. on 2/23/2017.
This is the official town government site for Lake Placid, Florida. The town has a Mayor/Council form of government elected by the town's residents. The population of the town is estimated as of 2010 at 2,278 with a geographical area of 2.84 square miles.
The town has two
Murals" and "The Caladium Capital of the World." Lake Placid has
more than 40 murals painted on buildings throughout the town,and 98
percent of the world's caladium bulbs come from Lake Placid. The Town
combines a colorful combination of caladiums, murals, with a
clown college that
graduates 25 new clowns a year into the community. The combination
assures a magnificent year round beauty that has repeatedly
received national acclaim.
Lake Placid has five schools, Lake
Placid High School, Lake Placid Middle School, Lake Placid Elementary
and two private schools within the town's limits. The town has an
active Chamber of Commerce.
There is always something to do or see in Lake Placid.
