Front Desk Clerk and
Front Desk Clerk and Receptionist is a multifaceted cashier and reception position for the Town of Lake Placid. Employee must be dependable and have people skills. Responsibility is to ensure Front Desk coverage and timeliness of posting payments. Greeting customers and operating the switchboard is crucial and time sensitive. Public Works Maintenance
This is an entry level full-time position maintain parks, roadways, sanitation duties, mowing and other areas. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Works. Normal starting pay is $11.40 per hour; however, additional pay is negotiable given advanced skills.
Public Works Commercial Driver
This is an entry level full-time position performing mostly truck driving under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Works. Sanitation truck driver, at times the position is required to help with maintenance of town roads, parks, and facilities or any task designated by the Public Works Director. This position requires a State of Florida issued CDL type A or B driver license. Starting pay for CDL Licensed employee with clean driving record, agreeable to performing all tasks in the job description as needed is $13.75 per hour.
Pay and benefit scale depends on experience and qualifications. All full-time positions include state retirement paid by town with 3% by employee, Health insurance currently provided at %100, paid Vacation benefits, sick leave benefits, and paid Holidays.
All full-time positions are above Florida Minimum wage and are being upgraded in the coming years to remain competitive with the central Florida area.

The Town also pays 100% of employee health insurance, currently with Blue Cross Blue Shield. The town pays 97% of FRS state Retirement with employees able to retire depending on Florida Retirement System rules, currently a a 10 year lock in.
Ten paid holidays per year. If employee work holidays they are paid double.
Life Insurance $25,000
Sick leave accumulation at 1 day per month. Vacation accumulation at 2 weeks per year with longtivity increases.
