A Message from Town of Lake Placid Mayor Holbrook
In recognition of the Independence Day holiday, Governor Ron DeSantis has granted state employees an additional day off. Following his lead, the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners has officially designated Thursday, July 3rd, 2024 as an added holiday for County staff.

In alignment with this decision, the Town of Lake Placid will also observe Thursday, July 3rd as an official holiday. This added day off, in conjunction with the traditional Independence Day on July 4th, provides an extended opportunity for our community to celebrate with family, reflect on our nation’s founding, and enjoy a well-deserved break.

We thank you for your continued dedication to our Town, and we wish everyone a safe and joyful Independence Day.
